SKECHERS x drawingmary Global Collaboration

May 2026

This brand collaboration project captures the global launch of the Skechers x drawingmary Collection, a creative crossover we have been developing since last autumn. Following drawingmary’s successful exhibition in Hong Kong, this project showcased her creative journey on the global stage.

At the heart of the collaboration is a meaningful cultural journey across Asia. The artist brought her signature warmth and beloved characters, Mary and Day, to the global stage, reimagining the national flowers of six regions—South Korea, Singapore, Thailand, Vietnam, Malaysia, and Hong Kong—into friendly, living characters that reflect each city's unique spirit.

For drawingmary, this partnership was about extending her core artistic mission: delivering small moments of joy and refreshing "breezes" into busy, everyday urban life. Rather than letting a corporate partnership limit her creativity, she embraced the challenge of transferring her distinct visual language onto physical apparel and footwear. She focused heavily on maintaining her message of comfort, optimism, and daily happiness, ensuring it remained uncompromised when scaled for a global audience.

The collaboration balances Skechers' energetic brand identity with the artist's gentle, comforting style, using a bright and uplifting color palette drawn directly from the collaborative artwork. This project highlights how a thoughtful art-brand partnership can transcend branding , using deep storytelling and sensitive curation to turn a global commercial collection into an engaging art experience.

About Artist

drawingmary (b. 1984, Seoul) explores the profound connection between personal experience and creative expression. The illustrator embraces the concept of “painting joy,” capturing moments of cheerful liveliness that reflect the spirit of “Mary.” Through her work, she invites viewers to connect with the vibrant energy and joyful memories embodied by the figures on her canvas.

A prominent presence in her artwork is “Day”, a fluffy white dog and loyal companion to Mary. Day entered Mary’s life unexpectedly, providing companionship during the early stages of her artistic journey when she often found joy in solitude. Each piece by drawingmary serves as a testament to their pure friendship, a bond that promises many more years of shared joy.
